Microblading in Coquitlam, BC
Expert Esthetician Natasha Kaba Offers the Best Microblading Coquitlam, BC Has to Offer
Microblading, also known as eyebrow embroidery, or high definition eyebrows, is a treatment that provides a means to partially or fully camouflage missing eyebrow hair by depositing mineral-based pigment in the brow area. This can be done by using one pigment color throughout, or a combination of pigments to achieve the increasingly popular ombre powder brows.
During the microblading process, a special microblading pen is used to deposit pigment in individual hair like strokes one by one. The actual micro blade used is a series of seven needles that are placed strategically on an angle and are chosen specifically for their thickness as the needles mimic the thickness of human hair. This procedure is perfect for those who have lost eyebrow hair due to over plucking, alopecia, chemotherapy, hormonal changes and for those who simply want to modify their shape or stop using makeup daily in the eyebrow area as the end goal is to either partially or fully reconstruct, define, cover gaps or fill-in sparse eyebrows.
The treatment is a three hour process. During the first hour, your technician along with your input will take the time to choose pigment color, construct the shape and demonstrate what the shape and color of the brows will look like on the client. The shape of eyebrows is calculated according to the morphology of the face and the golden ratio. The ratio guides accurate placement of the base, arch, front and tail ends of the brow. Color is determined only according to the natural color of the hairs in the eyebrows and the hair.
The second hour is dedicated to numbing the area and the first application of pigment. The sensation during this time can be described as an intense feeling of tweezing. This occurs for only 15 – 30 minutes of the treatment.
During the third hour of treatment, a second application of numbing ointment is placed on the skin. Once the second application of numbing ointment sets in the remainder of the treatment is very comfortable. Once both technician and client are content with the final result of the treatment the aftercare process begins.
An ointment along with after care instructions are provided and need to be carried out by the client for the following 14 days. During this time skin is healing, the pigment on the surface of the skin lifts and the client is left with a softer lighter finish. After a full six weeks has passed, the client is asked to come in for a follow up as by then the skin will be fully healed and any minor touch ups that might be needed can occur. A color refresh is recommended once a year. To learn about our microblading technician Natasha, please visit her bio in the about us section of this website.
