The SHR Mode uses the optimal hair removal wavelength, 810 nm diode, the “gold standard” for hair removal for depth of penetration into the dermis where the hair follicle is located. Consistent, high average power capabilities facilitate the 10 pulse-per-second repetition rate for "hair removal in motion". The SHR Mode enables a low fluency, "in motion" approach attributing to its painless quality.
The laser is attracted to the hair follicles, using enough power to disable or destroy the root without harming the surrounding skin. This process is called selective photothermolysis. It is selective because it targets only the hair and not the skin.
What to expect:
Fast, effective and pain free-hair removal. While everyone’s tolerance to pain varies we are comfortable saying this machine is virtually pain free. Most of our clients agree. At most, you may feel a warm sensation or a “prickly” spot here and there as the laser penetrates to the hair follicle.
The Result:
You can expect a 90 - 95 % reduction in unwanted hair after a series of consistent treatments. Hair is natural to your body and it grows in stages. At any given time, not all hairs are actively growing and lasers are most effective at targeting the growing hairs. Some follicles are destroyed, while others are reduced to fine hairs or shocked into prolonged dormancy.
It is possible that with a sufficient number of treatments, true "permanent hair removal" can ultimately be achieved, but not for every single hair present in a given area. Age, ethnicity, weight, metabolism, medication, and hormones all play a role in the location, resilience, and thickness of hair. It is difficult, to predict how many treatments each individual will require achieving the best long term benefits. However, it has been our experience that 6 to 8 treatments four to six weeks apart is the most effective schedule.
With new technology laser hair removal suggests that the hair reduction achieved may be permanent, but an honest, reputable physician cannot guarantee this fact. And please note that as IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and different forms of IPL are very commonly used for hair removal, while they call it “Laser Hair removal”. However, it is not actually a laser and generally, Intense Pulsed Light has a difficult time penetrating to the depth of the hair follicle. That is why some people who have done hair removal with IPL are disappointed in the results.
